kIRK HAMMETTS ICONIC BLACK ALBUM USED GUITAR.

Used to record one of the biggest selling albums of all time, Mettallica’s Black album, this 1969 black Les Paul Fretless Wonder was owned, used and signed by Metallica's lead guitarist Kirk Hammett.

This is one of the most important Metallica guitars in existence due to it having been used by Kirk to record the song The God That Failed on the Black album.
One of Kirks guitars which was also used on the Black album sold for circa $280,000 in 2021 at auction.
Kirks guitars are not only sought after but also an asset whose value is only going one way.

The guitar comes with very special provenance, a personally signed certificate of authenticity from Kirk, a signed letter of provenance from Kirk's friend whom he traded the guitar with and most importantly, home video footage, approx 30 mins in length of Kirk and his friend trading music and horror memorabilia.

In the video Kirk plugs in this Fretless Wonder and proceeds to play various riffs, then he plays the main riff (which he refers to as the "jazz bit") from the song The God That Failed from the Black album and explains that is why he needed to use this fretless guitar because all his others guitars produced "fret rattle".

The guitar is also signed by Les Paul.

The guitar was also used during Metallica's 1988/89 ....And Justice for All album world tour.
